Fireworks
Oh dang, what a busy week. On Wednesday I drove way up to Belfast, which is an adorable little town for a nice, intimate wedding. It was excruciatingly hot. The heat caused everything to be a bit of a blur. There was a small sliver of shade between the boathouse where the reception was happening and the water. There was a nice stream of wind blowing through that shady spot so in-between the wedding formalities everyone was outside in that shady spot.
Shout out to the Belfast Co-Op for being two minutes away from the venue and staying open late. I was able to destroy a vegan bahn mi before the wedding and then a well-earned slice of vegan chocolate cake afterwards.
Saturday was the 4th of July and and I shot another fairly intimate wedding but this time much closer to home. It was at Vinegar Hill in Arundel. This is a cool music venue most of the time. It as also the darkest spaces I’ve ever shot in. I’ve shot in some dark barns before but this was a whole other level. I had to hide lights in some weird places but it all turned out fine. We got some surprise fireworks which is cool if you like that sort of thing.

There’s no wedding this weekend! I do have some other shoots kind of far away but I will welcome a weekend free of timelines, sweat, and aching bones.
I’ll be in the Deer Isle/Stonington are tomorrow. Does anyone know cool stuff to do there?

I’m pretty sure Martha Stewart and John Travolta used to live around those parts.
